Your luxurious Tanzania fly-in safari starts from Kilimanjaro International Airport as you depart for Ikoma Airstrip, where your guide will be waiting to take you to Simbavati Grumeti, your home for the next 3 nights.

During your transfer from Ikoma Airstrip, you will get your first taste of African wildlife as you drive through the park towards Simbavati Grumeti. Time permitting, you can also enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Simbavati Grumeti is situated a few hundred metres from the Grumeti River, one of the main tributaries feeding the incredible Serengeti ecosystem.

The lodge uniquely offers a great variety of activities, from morning and night game drives to walking safaris and breakfasts in the bush. If you are feeling a little more lethargic, spend your time in the day spa or reclining next to the pool, reading a book. Due to its location, wildlife viewing is significant, from plains game to the Big Five and all-mighty resident crocodiles and Hippopotamus in the Grumeti River. Birding enthusiasts will also not be disappointed.

Start your day with an optional walking safari (or a morning game drive) followed by a bush breakfast on the banks of the Grumeti River.

The area is well known for incredible wildlife sightings, from elephants to giraffes to buffalo and lions. As the lodge is situated in close proximity to the river, you will also have the advantage of seeing hippopotamus and crocodiles and a plethora of bird life.

Return to the lodge for lunch, and spend the afternoon at leisure or indulging in a spa. The afternoon holds the opportunity for another game drive, before a boma (outdoor) dinner under the evening stars.

After breakfast, enjoy your last few hours at Simbavati Grumeti, time permitting you can experience one last morning game drive. Depart for the airstrip and fly back to Kilimanjaro International Airport with the incredible memories of your journey in Tanzania. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro from your airplane seat!
