Itinerary
On arrival in Victoria Falls, you will be met and transferred the short distance to your comfortable lodge. Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”), magnificent Victoria Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated on the mighty Zambezi River. Known as the adventure capital of Southern Africa, visitors of all ages are also spoiled for choice with an array of optional activities including white water rafting, bungee jumping and scenic flights, plus game drives, spa treatments, afternoon tea and shopping in local craft markets.
This afternoon, set sail on a relaxing Zambezi Sundowners Cruise, keeping your eyes peeled for meandering elephants on the shore as you savour your first glorious sunset in Africa.
This morning, join a guided Victoria Falls Tour to witness first hand one of the Seven Wonders of The World. The might of the falls’ spray varies depending on which season you visit, but be sure to bring a rain jacket – you will get wet! Enjoy lunch overlooking one of Victoria Fall’s most scenic lookout points before spending the rest of the afternoon at leisure. This evening, enjoy a night of drums and dancing with an authentic African Boma dinner.
On day 3, your driver will collect you after breakfast where you will cross the border into Botswana and the famous Chobe National Park. Here you’ll spend two nights at popular Chobe Game Lodge, the perfect base from which to experience both land-based game drives inside the park and motorised boat safaris on the adjacent Chobe River.
This afternoon, join your first thrilling game activity before dinner back at the lodge. With a variety of dining locations available, from their riverside boma and dining terrace to the boardwalk and open-air patio, every mealtime at Chobe Game Lodge is an opportunity for a new experience under the stars, reflecting on the day’s activities while connecting with friends and family.
Enjoy a full day in Chobe with two diverse game activities in the morning and afternoon. Renowned for its vast array of wildlife which congregate at the water’s edge, it’s not unusual to see a herd of elephants just metres from bobbing hippos and gliding crocodiles which wallow in the waters nearby. Chobe also boasts a seemingly endless list of bird species, with frequent sightings including pelicans, herons, eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters and more. A true paradise for photographers and wildlife lovers alike!
Today, transfer the short distance to Kasane Airport for your onward charter flight to Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi is a true wilderness situated in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta, covering almost one third of it.
With such a wide variety of vegetation comes a diverse spectrum of wildlife: huge herds of impala and tsessebe are found in the area, while in the dry season large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra flock here in search of food and water.
Your camp for the next two nights offers both land and water-based activities, so this afternoon join your ranger in search of lions, cheetahs and packs of wild dogs which hunt in the open grasslands.
Rise early for your first full day exploring Moremi. Home to over 400 species of birds as well as vasts varieties of mammals, insects, plants, fish and reptile species, listen as your knowledgeable guide explains how the wildlife in Moremi has had to successfully adapt to the area’s almost swamplike conditions.
During the dry season the congregation of all species along permanent rivers and waterholes makes Moremi one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences in Africa, however great game viewing is assured throughout the year.
Back at camp, relax on the raised decks which maximise the views over the surrounding forests, lagoons and islands.
After a final game activity this morning, return to the airstrip for your charter flight into the depths of the Okavango Delta. Flying above the Delta will give you endless views of the majestic waterways and lagoons making up this wilderness, where in flight you can appreciate the vastness of this area in a way simply not possible on the ground.
Once at your comfortable lodge, freshen up with a spot of lunch and a dip in the pool before your first afternoon game activity. This evening, join your fellow campmates for an alfresco dinner by candlelight.
The beauty of the Okavango Delta lies in its complete tranqullity, surrounded by nature and the singsong of birdlife. Seasonal flooding replenishes the region, attracting huge volumes of roaming wildlife and wetland birds which roam between its fertile borders. Your stay in the Delta includes both gentle mokoro (canoe) excursions out onto the channels of the Delta, as well as guided game walks. As the camp is surrounded by so much water, game drives are not possible, so your experience of the wild is not unlike that of the early explorers – by boat and by foot, offering a truly unique wilderness adventure.
After a final game activity this morning being expertly navigated through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways of the Delta, it’s time to say goodbye to magnificent Botswana. After breakfast, transfer back to the airstrip for your flight to Maun, and your onward arrangements.
