Moremi Game Reserve Safari Tours
Commonly referred to as one of the best game viewing areas in Africa, a tour to the Moremi captures the essence of safari.
Moremi Game Reserve is a year round sanctuary for many animals, including Africa’s Big 5 (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo), along with an array of other wildlife such as the endangered wild dog, hyena, jackal, hippo, crocodile, giraffe and the full range of antelope. Birdlife is prolific in the Moremi Game Reserve with over 400 species to delight even the most experienced ornithologist. These magnificent creatures can be seen on a game drives, on a walking safari, and on a mokoro tour (although some areas in Moremi do not have high enough water levels to offer mokoro trips at all times of the year).
It should also be noted that a tour to the Moremi is more accessible than other parts of the Okavango Delta, as this section of land is on the Eastern side of the Okavango Delta and is accessible by aircraft and land (unlike certain water based camps within the Okavango Delta which are only accessible by aircraft)
Visitors need to be aware that the Moremi Game Reserve is technically a National Park and vistors therefore have to adhere to certain rules which include no night game drives, walking safaris and fishing. However, camps and lodges set outside the national park on bordering private concessions can enjoy these activities.
