Embark on an unforgettable safari to Botswana, experiencing only the best lodges. This Botswana tour ventures off the beaten path, exploring the remote Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and heading towards the iconic Okavango Delta and Chobe River, ending at the mighty Victoria Falls.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Botswana

On arrival in Maun, you will be met by a representative and assisted with your next flight, which will fly to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

From the air you will see the huge expanse of the salt pans shimmering off in the horizon. On landing you will be taken to your accommodation where you will spend 2 nights with all meals, drinks and activities included.

During the wet season 35-75,000 zebra and wildebeest migrate into the area with regular sightings of lions.

Day 3 - 5: Okavango Delta

Fly from Makgadikgadi, leaving the dry part of your journey behind as you head for the water filled channels and lagoons of the Okavango Delta where your next Okavango Delta Safari accommodation is situated deep within the Delta. Flying over the Okavango Delta gives you an awesome view of the extent of the waterways and swamps into which you will go exploring.

Here, you will spend 2 nights with all meals, local drinks, and activities included. On your Okavango Delta tour, you will have a full day to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and a number of activities.

Day, evening and night drives around the private concession bordering the famous Moremi Game Reserve, will expose you to exciting wildlife sightings. You can explore guided nature walks, and also paddle the channel waters in mokoros, perhaps taking in some fishing while silently cruising along the lagoons and channels.

Day 5 - 7: Chobe National Park

After a week of isolation from the rest of the world, return to semi-civilisation with a flight out of the Delta Kasane - gateway town to the Chobe National Park.

Upon landing, transfer to your Chobe safari accommodation on the banks of the beautiful Chobe River, where you will stay for 2 nights surrounded by herds of wildlife in an area with one of the highest concentrations of animals anywhere in Africa. Your stay here will include all meals, local drinks, and activities.

Highlights in Chobe are both on land and water, with boat cruises on this section of the river offering some of the most spectacular game viewing. Every afternoon herds of elephants rumble and rush down to the water to drink, and the boat is often surrounded by them as they swim across and wade in the water. Buffalo, giraffe, the rare sable, zebra, lion, kudu and many more species are regularly seen.

Day 7 - 9: Victoria Falls

Travel from your Chobe camp back through the park, to the border point where four countries meet (Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia). Cross the border into Zimbabwe, and continue to your Victoria Falls accommodation. Dinner and breakfast is included. Lunches can be enjoyed in restaurants around the picturesque town.

In the afternoon you will head off on a guided Victoria Falls tour, and see for yourself first-hand what so amazed David Livingstone those 150 years ago. Spend your evening at sunset, cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, and enjoy sundowners and a barbeque dinner, while watching hippos and crocodiles lazing in the water.

Enjoy a free day taking part in the activities of your choice (optional activities are not included in the tour price). Victoria Falls offers many exciting, as well as relaxing, activities, including river cruises, canoeing, scenic flights, walking with lions, bungee jumping, white water rafting, village and cultural tours, elephant back safaris and many more. Your final dinner will have unique African flavour as you enjoy local cuisine at The Boma Restaurant, famous for its African music, drums and dancing.

Day 9: Victoria Falls

Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport, where you will continue with your onward travel arrangements. This is the perfect time to reflect on all the amazing sights and sounds and experiences of your trip.
