Itinerary Review for Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia By Georgene E
It was a African trip of a lifetime and we loved the whole experience.
We began our trip in Cape Town, South Africa and loved the Victoria and Albert Hotel on the waterfront. We stayed 3 days and weny to go to Robben Island, the Wine Country and to the Cape while we were there and of course we dined and relaxed a bit. Cape Town is a lovely city. From there we went to Victoria Fall, Zimbabwe and we loved the Ilala Hotel. It is small and friendly and located very close to the entrance to the Falls and to the Victoria Hotel. We did the elephant safari which we recommend; we were not able to do the lion encounter because it was sold out. One of our party did it and raved about it. We walked over the bridge to Zambia and experienced the falls from that side and really enjoyed that. From Vic Falls we were driven to Chobe National Park in Botswana and stayed at the Lodge in the park. The lodge is just fantastic - the rooms, the food, the staff, the setting and of course the guides and safari tours. We just loved it and wished we had planned to stay there longer as it was such a lovely place to spend time. We experienced Nile crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, kudu, impala, hippos, lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, wart hogs, baboons....and on and on. It was wonderful and we loved our guide, Connie. From Chobe we went to Camp Okavango for a very relaxing end to our trip. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and laid back and we loved it. At the end of our trip we all wished we could have stayed longer.
