Our trip to Africa was overall an exceptional experience. Safari365 was very easy to work with and very responsive to making sure everything along the way was in order. I will give our Safari365 consultant Matthew an A+ for communication and interest in making sure we were happy with our experience. The full-color itinerary and descriptive brochure was spot-on and well done. We started planning for our holiday at the end of December 2017 for a June 2018 tour. Consider giving yourself a little more than six months to ensure any high end accommodations are not booked. Despite the timing constraints, Matthew was able to book the Kapama River Lodge for us which was absolutely fabulous. We would definitely go back in the future. Matthew was very flexible with our plans and was able to fine tune our itinerary to give us the best experience possible. During our stay in Cape Town, he booked us a private half day and full day tour with the same tour guide, Zelda, from the Ilios tour company who was fabulous. Our trip included Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach, Table Mountain, and Signal Hill. Great photo taking at all these places. To save a little money, we elected to book our own hotel, and in retrospect, would have felt a little more connected to amenities had we stayed at the V&A Waterfront area. As a tourist, just be aware of your surroundings. Back to our Safari adventure - - - Kapama is fabulous. We were well treated and everyone is super there. We hadn't planned all the tips in the budget, but at checkout, we were told it was customary to add R300 ($25.00) per person per day to the gratuity which is put in a pool and shared with staff. We elected to give our handlers, including game drive driver and guide, an individually determined gratuity in a separate envelope. Just be prepared with some cash, here-and-there, for driver, tour guide, and other random tips - it's expected and doesn't need to be much. Try to be prepared in advance with regards to customary tips and gratuities. We were very gracious, however, to our Safari guides who were exceptional. So, Cape Town, Safari, and next stop was Victoria Falls. Some transfers were provided by Safari365 and some we pre-planned. All of the transfers were ready and faultless. Our three domestic Africa flights were flawless. The transfer from Zambia to Zimbabwe was made a little difficult because of the customs stops and visa checks, but our driver took care of everything. We planned to ride the Sunset Cruise on the Zambizi River and just made it in time after our flight landed and the customs checks - that was a little hectic and in retrospect, it really didn't matter because if we had missed the cruise we could have done it the next night as well. Viewing the Falls from the Zimbawe side is wonderful and the park with overlooks there are spectacular. There is a lot of locals "in your face" trying to sell you stuff, but just ignore them and keep moving unless you want to give them something for their carvings and trinkets, but have your money ready and not in one place in your wallet. Lookout Mountain in Zimbabwe is quite possibly one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world - what a place and a must see. Taxis work well in Zimbabwe and any ride should not cost more than $5.00 US. We stayed at the Batonka Guest Lodge - it was excellent, very safe, good breakfast, and great staff. Safari365's planning and expertise was very much appreciated and we recommend them to others without hesitation. Well done!
