What a fabulous safari Denis and I had starting with 3 nights/ 2 days at the Safari Park hotel in Nairobi and ending there as well for a night. After several days and nights in Kenya with several more in Tanzania all our expectations were met. The lodges were in wonderful settings eg. Amboseli ( with Mt Kilimanjaro literally on our doorstep) and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge perched on the rim of the crater. Each lodge was in close proximity to the entrance to the park/ reserve. The food was great with a varied selection on offer. The staff members were very helpful and friendly. It would have been nice to have made more use of the pool areas and lodge facilities, however the aim of the trip for us was to see as many of these magnificent animals in their own environment and we were not disappointed! It was a magnificent safari for us!! The bonus was seeing the Big 5 (during the first two days!) The scenery was stunning and just as I had imagined. Our two drivers, Maxwell in Kenya & Judah in Tanzania were very knowledgeable about the animals, the topography, the country (history, culture economics etc) and went out of their way to make the animal viewing exceptional. Our last day was very long and we felt that it would have been best to return to Safari Park hotel in Nairobi to enjoy a quiet dinner there before retiring for the night. Carnivore restaurant was extremely busy and noisy and not everyone (including me) wants platefuls of meat only to eat. This safari was absolutely wonderful with memories and photos that we will treasure forever!! I would certainly recommend this journey to anyone and would like to do another safari one day to another area of this great continent, Africa. Thank you to Karen for all of her effort to make this holiday so wonderful.
