Itinerary Review for East Africa By Jordan M
One of the most memorable experiences of my life!
This is an independent review by Jordan From USA who traveled to East Africa in June 2019.
Wanita Lassen was Jordan's consultant
We had a wonderful time and the safari was one of the most memorable experiences of my life! The Porini camps were fabulous! We loved staying on the conservancies so we could go off the roads and also loved that the camps allowed animals to pass right through. We had elephants, giraffes, and even a hippo right next to our tent. If we went back to Africa I would pick a Porini camp again. Lamu was enjoyable but I don't think we loved it as much as our consultant Hildy had made it seem like we would. The housing was amazing and we ended up spending a lot of time here. We got a lot of pressure when we were in town from salespeople and felt like we couldn't trust anyone to ask questions to as we were always asked for outrageous amounts of money afterwards as a tip. We never felt unsafe, just very annoyed. It also seemed much more sleepy since it wasn't a high season. Hildy had recommended we stay in Shela as I really wanted a beach trip after safari. However, the tides made it very hard to go and enjoy the beach. I don't think I'd head to Lamu again. Wanita was our new consultant after Hildy finished up her time with Safari365. Wanita handled everything amazingly. I think transitions are always difficult but she did extremely well in answering all our questions and picking up where Hildy left off. Also, thank you so much for handling Cort and Heather's flight delay so quickly! That helped us de-stress quite a lot. Thank you for also working with us to coordinate cars to allow us to see what we wanted while in Nairobi. Thanks so much!
