Ryan was born in London, England and spent his younger years studying law and business studies. During his studies, he began work in a travel agency to earn some extra income. While working, he absolutely fell in love with the travel industry and decided switch his focus to travel and tourism. 29 years later, Ryan is even more in love with travel and is now living and working in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa.
Ryan visited South Africa in 1993 and decided to move here permanently in 1994 after being wowed by the amazing country. Ryan made a move to the tour operating industry in 2008 and now enjoys an incredibly rewarding career that he is deeply passionate about. Today, Ryan continues to share his passion for Africa by creating unforgettable trips and safaris for his clients.
Favourite Travel Destination:
It’s a difficult one but for Ryan it has to be between Botswana and Timbavati Private Game Reserve in Kruger National Park.
Most Treasured Travel Experience:
There are two that stand out: The first experience: while embarking on an overland luxury mobile safari in the Okavango Delta, the group’s jeep got stuck in some mud and they had to jump out and assist the guide in getting the jeep out. Although the guide said it was safe, the mind can play tricks and it was a hair-rasing experience (and gratifying when they made it out)!
The second experience was 10 years ago in the Timbavati, when Ryan saw the Big 5 on his very first game drive – at that time he knew it was special but today he realises what a lucky experience that was!
