Bon was born into a family of South African naturalists and was raised with her two wild brothers, Brent and Grant, in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains in the Cradle of Humankind. This is where Bon’s love of the African wilderness got started. After school, Bon spent a year working and travelling in Europe in the pre-email days where she cherished all the handwritten letters from loved ones back home.
Bon returned to South Africa with a passion for travel and completed a diploma in Tourism. She joined Rovos Rail as a Hostess for the Cape Town to Dar es Salaam epic steam train journey before becoming a travel consultant. An opportunity to work in private game lodges arose and after a few wonderful years of working in high-end lodges, one of Bon’s guests offered Bon a teaching position at a private girl’s school in Chile. This led to two of the best years of Bon’s life in South America where she spent months at a time in the Amazon jungle. As both of her brothers were working as safari guides in Botswana Bon’s intention was to visit them for 3 months before her next year away - but she ended up living there, on the edge of the Okavango Delta for the next 17 years, working in tourism and raising her children, Royce and Kayleigh, in paradise. With Royce reaching high school age a whole new chapter, in the incredibly beautiful city of Cape Town, has begun.

Incredible Time in Botswana!
Thank you for arranging such an amazing trip. Everything went without any problems and we had an incredible time. Our favourite spot was probably Savute because of the abundance of lions and leopards we saw there. Our guide, Tau, was also the best (although all the guides were very good). Moremi was great with a bit more variety of game…
