South Africa travel regulations
Much has been publicised during the last months over the debacle that is “the South African proposed regulations for child travellers”.
We are pleased to confirm that The Department of Home Affairs has delayed implementation of the requirement for children under the age of 18 to present an unabridged/original birth certificate until June 1, 2015.
Furthermore, in the instances where children are travelling with one parent, the written permission required under the new regulations would also be postponed until June 1, 2015.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Department of Tourism, South Africa Tourism Services, Iata, Asata, TBCSA and all other involved parties in voicing industry concerns to the Department of Home Affairs and bringing about the postponement to these regulations.
