Safari 365 on the Blue Train - 1st May - Worker’s Day
The Safari365 team came together this Worker’s Day holiday, the 1st of May to do some “really hard work”… having brunch on the Blue Train!!
We were treated to all the luxuries afforded to the guests of the Blue Train. Beginning with a warm welcome at the elegant Blue Train lounge at Cape Town Station, we were ushered onto the train and treated to a delicious selection of pastries and some bubbly in the company of Herbert the train manager who warmed our hearts with stories of his 2 decade long career with the Blue Train. We toured the train and were blown away by the tasteful beauty of the decor, from the stunning views from the observation car, through the well-appointed suites to the smoking car where we could see the driver’s view on a big screen TV!
We then enjoyed a delectable brunch, served with elegance by our delightful waiter William. Items like ceviche wrapped in fresh salmon; escargot, lamb cutlets and grilled kingklip were complimented by an exceptional wine list, showcasing some of South Africa’s top rated wines! Rounded off with delicious desserts and a cheese platter, making it a meal to remember!
Our journey ended at Worcester Station and we bid the train farewell, knowing that every guest on board was assured some serious spoiling en route to Pretoria!
Our thanks to the Blue Train who made this once in a lifetime experience available to us!
